Mostra Cacao entre dos mundos
Mostra "Cacao entre Dos Mundos" Art Direction, graphic design and all collateral materials for the exhibition held at the Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana dedicated to cocoa – one of the most precious treasures from the New World. The history of Cocoa from its roots in Mesoamerican America, to its arrival in the Old Continent up to the present day: a journey through time told in the thematic exhibition "Cacao Entre Dos Mundos". The exhibition, conceived and curated by the architect Ruby E. Villareal, president of Entre dos Mundos Cultural Association, was created in partnership with the Honorary Consulate of Mexico in Florence and the Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana, with the scientific collaboration of the Getty Research Institute and of the Galileo Museum – Institute and Museum of the History of Science. Thanks to the collaboration with the Uffizi Galleries, the National Archaeological Museum of Florence, the Regional Museums Directorate of Tuscany, the Central National Library of Florence, the Galileo Museum – Institute and Museum of the History of Science and the Museum of Civilizations of Rome, the exhibition was composed of Mesoamerican archaeological finds, original and digital maps, medieval coins, Renaissance portraits, indigenous artisanal artefacts and the Florentine Codex (Historia general de las Cosas de Nueva España), the 16th-century ethnographic research study in Mesoamerica by the Spanish Franciscan friar Bernardino de Sahagún, preserved in the Laurentian Library.
